My name is Sharlene Poliko. I am delighted to be one of your elected members of the Matua Ngaru School Board. I have two children currently attending MNS and have been on the Board for just over a year now, firstly as a co-opted member in early 2022 and then by election later that same year.

We have lived in the Kumeu/ Huapai community since mid 2020, when we moved with our 4 children from Te Atatu Peninsula. Despite the challenges faced by lockdowns, it has been wonderful to see MNS flourish and develop under the leadership of Michelle and her team

As a proud Pasifika woman, I am excited to be bringing a fresh perspective and diversity in thought and action to the Board. I bring with me, experience in governance administration, Māori Social Service provision and a Bachelor in Environmental Health Science. Most importantly however Is my commitment to a tamariki centred approach, in which the well-being of children, YOUR children, are always at the centre of all decision making at a Board level.

I look forward to serving on the Board as advocates for the best outcomes for your tamariki and hope to have the opportunity to get to know some of our MNS whānau.
