Kia Ora, I am Amy Robertshaw and I am super excited for the adventure that’s ahead of us. I come to Matua Ngaru School from Verran Primary School, where I have been lead teacher in e-Learning and Enviro. My past two years have been spent in an ILE working collaboratively with 5 teachers and 120 Year 5-6 students. I grew up on the North Shore, Auckland and now live in West Auckland with my Border Collie Nike and my Cat Bumper.
My learning journey includes a Diploma in Outdoor Recreation and Leadership, Bachelor of Education and MindLab Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Practice (Digital and Collaborative Learning). I am currently working towards becoming a Google Certified Educator. In the classroom, I enjoy collaboratively designing imaginative and innovative learning opportunities that prepare students for their future.
When I am not teaching you will probably find me on the rugby field or exploring one of the beautiful native bush areas of New Zealand. I have played women's rugby for 10 years and represented both Auckland and North Harbour. Alongside rugby, I enjoy tramping, diving, geocaching, outdoor cooking and hanging my hammock beneath the stars.
I look forward to being part of the founding Matua Ngaru team and facing the many fresh opportunities that will arise.
