Hi! I’m Anna Harris. I have been teaching for 20 years. I love teaching all ages but I am particularly delighted to be spending lots of time with our youngest learners at the moment. I like to make learning fun and engaging and try to make all our children feel valued and cared for. One of my passions is teaching and learning through play, which is a developmentally appropriate way to build skills and knowledge for 20th century learners, and is backed up by brain research.
I like camping with my family, snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking and am always looking for a new adventure. This year I am learning to scuba dive! Over the years I have dabbled in lots of musical instruments, starting out on the violin and piano, moving to the trombone and guitar, and my current challenge is to learn the drums.
The team at Matua Ngaru is so supportive and collaborative and I am thrilled to be working here. I look forward to getting to know all our wonderful learners and their families and am excited to be contributing to their learning journey.
