I am Fiona Wright, the Lead teacher of the Matua Ngaru Arohanui School Satellite class.
Our class is made up of seven learners who receive ORS funding and are enrolled at Arohanui Special School. Our learners are aged from 5 – 11 and have a diverse range of abilities, needs and strengths. Our learners all live in the nearby community. Our learners are supported daily by a myself, Max our Tuesday teacher, and a team of four teachers aides. We also receive extra regular support from our Speech Language Therapist (SLT), Occupational Therapist (OT) and Physiotherapist. Once a fortnight our learners are also visited by a specialist arts teacher.
I am really excited to be part of Matua Ngaru School in its foundation year and strive to grow strong links between our two schools and our learners.
